„12 years old, Jew, Signed Out to England 5/10/39“. The Fate of Eva Mosbacher and her Parents
This book depicts the life of a Franco-Thuringian Jewish family. The Pogroms of the National Socialists led to a separation of the family. The twelve-year-old Eva reached England with the Kindertransport. Her parents desperately struggled to immigrate to the USA. The exchange of letters with their daughter gives insight to the hope of a family to be reunited. In May 1942, exactly three years after Eva’s departure, Hedwig and Otto Mosbacher were deported from Meiningen to the Bełżyce Ghetto by way of Weimar, and were later murdered there.
